Scope of Position Under the direction of the Laboratory Compliance Director and Associate Director of Laboratory Services, the Laboratory Outreach Manager supports the identification and development of operational efficiencies, annual strategic goals and objectives, financial and capital budget, and future planning of The Ohio State University Reference Laboratory. The position will collaborate with the Directors, Associate Directors, CP and AP Laboratory Managers, Outreach Relations department, and external clients, among other stakeholders. This position will partner with AP and CP Laboratory Leaders and Operations leadership, as well as Information Technology/LIS, teams to plan, develop, implement, and oversee initiatives and projects designed to evaluate and improve quality, customer service, and resource utilization within The Ohio State University Reference Laboratory. The Laboratory Outreach Manager will maintain the needs of current accounts, ensure client satisfaction, and update and implement all new client communications and education efforts, including regulatory and billing requirements. Position Summary The Laboratory Outreach Manager participates in the development of operational strategy and is responsible for the daily operations and management of all outreach functions. This position supervises and coordinates multiple activities including: customer service, courier services, sales and marketing, technical support, billing, and oversight of outreach specimen processing. The Laboratory Outreach Manager will collaborate with the Director and Associate Director and manage direct reports who will oversee the daily coordination of customer service and billing of outreach clients. They will lead and manage the team and partner with key stakeholders to efficiently maintain the needs of current accounts and ensures client satisfaction of. Minimum Qualifications For Hire: Bachelors degree in Health Administration, Business or other related field or equivalent combination of education and experience, Masters Degree preferred. At least three years of progressive healthcare experience required. Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and facilitation skills. Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects. Ability to learn new systems software. Independent and self-motivated. Preferred Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification. On-going: Attends professional continuing education to remain up to date on best practices and technological innovations in the clinical disciplines. |
