ROLE SUMMARY:

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Staff Accountant located in Billerica to join our Accounting team. The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:



  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining a culture of trust and compliance with established Quality standards.
  • Overall daily cash reconciliation and reporting
  • Perform payment and bank reconciliations.
  • Lead all travel expense review and reporting.
  • Assist in the process & review of bi-weekly payroll for all employees, including special payments such as terminations, bonus and commission payments and leave of absences, etc. as needed.
  • Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables primarily relating to commissions, payroll and prepaids, ensuring compliance with relevant SOX controls.
  • Process fixed asset transactions and reconciliation of all fixed asset accounts.
  • Prepare journal entries and other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as needed.
  • Participate in documentation and other process improvements, and general continuous improvement activities.
  • Assist with special projects, such as system enhancements and cross training initiatives.
  • In-office fixed asset audits and other ad-hoc in-office needs (such as the annual physical inventory).


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:




  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience in accounting or finance OR a Master's degree with 0 years of experience in accounting or finance



  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance, with integrity in the application of standards.




PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance, with integrity in the application of standards.
  • Strong Excel skills required (e.g. Pivot Table & VLOOKUP experience) and ability to work with large volumes of transactional data.
