JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State's Agricultural Safety and Health (ASH) Program in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ABE) seeks an education program specialist at the intermediate or advanced professional level. As part of a team, this person's primary responsibility will be to plan, organize, and deliver agricultural safety and rescue training programs for the following audiences: farmers, farm workers, and their families, professional organizations, first responders, agricultural educators (secondary and college level), state agencies, and extension teams. Responsibilities will include maintaining existing programs and developing new ones to respond to identified needs and priorities. Education and Experience: This person will be hired at either the intermediate or advanced professional level. The intermediate professional level requires a bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, extension education, agricultural sciences, or engineering plus 1 or more years of position-relevant experience. The advanced professional level requires a bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, extension education, agricultural sciences, or engineering plus 3 or more years of position-relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional Information: This is an in-person position based on the University Park campus with some travel in Pennsylvania and occasional travel in neighboring states. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.The position includes working on some evenings and weekends. This is a limited term position funded for one year from date of hire with good possibility of refunding.
