Computer Engineer I

This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced program with DCS Corp's U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command - Ground Vehicle Systems Center engineering group located in Warren, MI. As an experienced Software Engineer, you will work alongside our U.S. Army Software Engineering Center customer, applying your knowledge and skills by providing technical engineering services that support the development of software requirements, architecture, design, code and test for the Modular Active Protection System (MAPS) Program.

Essential Job Functions:

This work will include the development of modular software, integration frameworks, design, development, test of operational software products. It will involve the coordination and integration of other software activities and products from other supplying entities.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.

Min of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

Software Development following organizational standard software processes.

Work with customer to develop software requirements.

Working well with others to learn and resolve technical obstacles (problems).

Communication skills required to interface with systems and software development engineer as well as customer.

Design software following defined architectures.

Perform software development using software version control and issue tracking systems.

Integrate Software working with multiple contractor software.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills who actively seeks an understanding of the system and the customer's needs.

Experience developing Software following a capability maturity model process.

Strong C++ skills (Including up to C++14),

Experience within the Linux environment.

Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Linux Development

Experience with Atlassian tools, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence

Git command / repository knowledge.

Desired Skills:

Knowledge using Software Tools.

Google Test.

Able to write and perform tests, both unit and system, and debug systems in a lab environment.

Experience using VMWare.

Ability to troubleshoot and debug issues.

Experience with communication methods, i.e. DDS, TCP.

Networking/Wireshark.
