EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:



  • Master's degree in education, instructional design, educational technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years in educational technology, instructional design, or a similar role, ideally within a higher education setting.
  • Strong understanding of instructional best practices and curriculum design principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to collaborate with faculty, administrators, and students.
  • Experience managing projects, meeting deadlines, and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.


Preferred Education and Experience



  • Minimum 2-3 years in a lead or supervisory role
  • Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS), Canvas preferred.
  • Certifications such as Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or other instructional design credentials.
  • Familiarity with new trends in EdTech, such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality, or adaptive learning.



RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Product Development and Launch

    • Work cross-functionally to guide product features from conception, launch, and ongoing maintenance.
    • Research and recommend new and emerging technologies to enhance student learning and engagement; stay current with trends and best practices in educational technology to ensure innovative and effective solutions are being implemented.
    • Set up testing scenarios for new product uses and enhancements.
    • Manage technologies including tickets, settings, and integration.


  • Collaboration and Partnership

    • Collaborate with faculty and staff to design, implement, and evaluate technology-integrated instructional strategies and materials.
    • Partner with IT applications to implement university level classroom products into the student experience (i.e. Proctorio settings, standard Canvas features, etc.).
    • Collaborate with integrations specialist to determine and improve faculty and student access with third party vendors; manage API and LTI (learning tools interoperability) - in partnership with IT.
    • Partner with LDS and SMEs to integrate technology into courses.
    • Serve as a liaison between academics and IT to ensure smooth integration and use of technology.
    • Partner with faculty effectiveness to strategize training and support on education technology.

The Manager of Learning Design and Education Technology provides oversight in developing and maintaining integration of education technology in courses with focus on student experience, student outcomes, and sound instructional practices in alignment with course objectives and program outcomes. This role will oversee the creation of engaging, effective, and learner-centered educational materials and programs across various platforms, guide a team of instructional designers and collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), educators, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality learning experiences.
