SUMMARY OF DUTIES This position will partner with the organization's procurement professionals to advance socially and environmentally responsible purchasing while meeting the companies' price, performance, quality and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED 1. Assists with the design of the Supplier Sustainability Program and coordinates its effective implementation throughout Merit's global network. 2. Builds strong engagement and alignment with key senior business leaders across Procurement, Operations, EHS&S, Supply Chain, Compliance & Risk, Audit, Legal, Government Affairs, HR, and Finance and other departments as needed. 3. Assists with the process for selection, approval and performance evaluation activities needed for suppliers to meet Merit's specified requirements with respect to supplier sustainability by: * Reviewing and supporting the type and extent of control to be exercised over suppliers based on risk. * Reviewing and analyzing data related to supplier approval and performance to specified requirements; provides reports to management, as appropriate. * Responsible for internal/external required supplier documentation. 4. Supports the handling and resolution of supplier sustainability related issues using Merit's risk management process as needed. 5. Assists with the development and review of key supplier metrics. 6. Conducts on-site supplier audits and evaluates supplier performance in accordance with supplier code of conduct, and human rights and labor standards policy as needed to ensure supplier conformance to Merit expectations. 7. Presents supplier performance metrics and risk updates to management, as required. 8. Performs other duties and tasks as required. Writing Sitting Standing Bending Visual acuity Color perception Depth perception Reading Field of vision/peripheral SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Education and/or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field and two years of work-related experience. * Proven track record in Supplier Sustainability Programs, across multiple organizations preferred. * Working knowledge of ISO regulations and requirements. * Strong leadership and the ability to influence at all levels within the organization. * Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey information and ideas in a variety of media. * Excellent data, analysis, trends, and reporting skills. Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write clearly and informatively technical documentation, routine reports, correspondence, procedures and workflows. Presents numerical data effectively. * Strong attention to detail. * Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations; displays willingness to make decisions; supports and explains reasoning for decisions; and includes appropriate people in the decision-making process. * Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, balance, and manage multiple efforts with strong results/goal orientation. * Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs. * Ability travel up to 30% of the time (Domestic & International). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Demonstrates an aptitude for process improvement. * Supplier and part management experience. * ASQ Certified Supplier Quality Professional Qualification.
