Overview

The Senior Developer-Learning Technologies position is responsible for creating engaging and high quality eLearning, animations, videos, and other learning deliverables that provide critical skills to TDS associates. These deliverables may be stand-alone or part of a broader curriculum. This role works on a variety of subjects.

This position has the ability to work remotely in any of the 40+ States in which TDS Telecom operates.

Responsibilities

eLearning Design and Development

    Design and develop learning assets using capturing, authoring, and editing tools. Assets may include eLearning, videos, practice activities, assessments/quizzes, and job aids.
  • Design custom graphics, illustrations, and animations.
  • Design and create reusable templates and graphical user interfaces. Follows industry standards for usability, accessibility, SCORM/AICC compliance, and LMS compatibility.
  • Perform testing and QA on all elements of eLearning course.

Instructional Design

  • Work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to document learning objectives and content outlines.
  • Translate learning objectives and content outlines into technical storyboards, content flows, audio scripts, and interactive elements.

Project Management

  • Successfully manage the development of multiple eLearning projects.
  • Estimate design, development, and asset creation for project planning and training request prioritization.
  • Effectively communicate with key project sponsors. Provide reports and status updates on project progress.

Consulting and Needs Assessment

  • Consult with business units and project sponsors to determine eLearning project deliverables.
  • Conduct needs assessment with key project sponsors and business units. Determine if training will meet key business need.
  • If training is required, determine the most effective training solution.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead or play a major role in contributing to the development of standard eLearning and instructional design processes.
  • Recommend and implement new eLearning tools, development approaches, and curriculum designs based on continuous advancements in the learning marketplace and industry best practices.
  • Design and develop evaluation tools and metrics for learning deliverables.
  • Analyze results of evaluation data to determine the impact of training, and make necessary adjustments.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree (or higher) -OR- 4+ years professional work experience.
  • 3+ years' experience designing technology-driven assets such as eLearning courses or animations.
  • 3+ years' experience managing training projects.

Other Qualifications

  • Demonstrated instructional design experience.
  • Experience with the advanced features of capture, authoring and editing tools.
  • Experience designing and developing eLearning that incorporates engagement and assessment features such as video, gamification, and branched scenarios.
  • Understanding of web usability standards, web design, and user interface design.
  • Experience with learning management system administration preferred.
  • Project management skills.
  • Consulting and relationship management skills.
  • Training curricula design and development skills.
