Business Systems Analyst

Fike Corporation, a rapidly growing international manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and detection equipment, has an opportunity for a Business Systems Analyst position. Fike is a privately held business located in Blue Springs, MO with over 400 employees locally & over 1,200 employees worldwide.

Job Summary:

This role involves a mix of technical systems understanding, communication skills, and business acumen. In order to leverage a multifaceted approach to problem-solving and improvement within systems and processes, this role will require collaboration with various stakeholders, including technical staff, consultants, vendors, and internal experts. The Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for analyzing current processes and systems, including understanding their intricacies, identifying areas for improvement, and documenting system impacts and business process flows to ensure clarity and effective communication across teams.

Analytical skills and change management principles are needed to not just on identify problems, but also to implement solutions and manage the transition process effectively. This could involve everything from assessing the feasibility of proposed changes to managing the rollout and adoption of new processes or technologies. Overall, this role requires a blend of technical expertise, interpersonal skills, and strategic thinking to drive meaningful change and improvement across the organization's systems and processes.

Primary Responsibilities:


  1. Applies broad technical knowledge and skills to analyze, develop, implement and improve specified business processes and software solutions in support of Fike's goals and initiatives.
  2. Works closely with business leaders, process owners, subject matter experts, and other Business Systems Analysts to define and document business requirements, business processes, data, and integration requirements.
  3. Works within the defined guidelines and project scope to lead the creation of deliverables, spanning from process to system design elements with an emphasis on functional and technical design.
  4. Responsible for carrying out business and testing requirements gathering; workflow analysis, gap analysis, user stories, test case development and functional design. Offers analysis throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
  5. Contributes to a fast-paced Agile scrum team and participate in planning, documentation, execution, testing, and launch of projects.
  6. Understands underlying data and business processes to develop and support a variety of reporting requirements and formats for all levels of the organization.
  7. Investigates and asks probing questions to identify root causes and recommends improvement opportunities that will support business goals
  8. Maintains excellent rapport with internal customers while attempting to resolve their support requests.
  9. Effectively communicates current status of activities, successes, and issues to manager, project manager(s) and senior staff.
  10. Pursues both formal and informal programs of continuing education to gain knowledge of new developments and sharpen skills in core applications and technologies.
  11. Facilitates requirement gathering workshops, documenting detailed functional, technical, reporting & data requirements.
  12. Gathers, creates and documents current and future state business process flows.
  13. Conduct analysis of systems specifications and use case, diagramming tools to represent business and technical processes.
  14. Provides support to Salesforce users across the organization, and acts as the primary point of contact for software design and development. Participates in the evolution of team best practices, standards and policies. Stay current with the periodic Salesforce releases and leverage the updates applicable to the ORG.
  15. Performs related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor's Degree in a technical or related field, preferably computer science. plus 5 years post degree experience or a combination of education and experience. Strong general computer skills including Salesforce, Process Flows and Change management.

Preferred: Background in Fike Specific enterprise software (Salesforce CRM, CPQ, Field Service, and Rootstock ERP) and AGILE software development process experience.
