This position is ultimately responsible for onsite quality activities for Machining, Assembly and Warehouse operations at the Distribution Center Danville facility.
Job Core Responsibilities
Quality Systems
- Responsible for the development, implementation and support of quality systems necessary to meet all MABS corporate and customer requirements. This position will support the Production System (PPS) and Quality Clinic and work as part of the DC manufacturing team.
- New Product Returns when applicable
- Responsible for analyzing customer returns, root cause and continuous improvement.
- Responsible for quality clinic to drive root cause and corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Customer, Product Support and Manufacturing Quality Support
- Responsible for documenting problems, containment, performing root cause analysis and developing/implementing corrective action.
- The quality engineer will also be required to support customer and third party quality audits as well as customer visits when required.
- APQP, FAI, Statistical analysis of new product introductions.
- Responsible for product first article development and coordination, internal audits, quality related calibration functions and managing all material acceptance test I inspection activities necessary to deliver product. Manufacturing process and data collection systems support (CAPPS and CARBSYS), Quality Clinic analysis/report generation and activities necessary to obtain business certifications required for deliveries are also responsibilities of the position.
- The quality engineer participates in the material review process (MRB) as part of the quality clinic.
- This position is also responsible for fostering a motivating and positive work environment as part of a team.
- The individual in this position will perform any other tasks properly assigned by the Parker Danville Quality team leader.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary.
- Maintenance of the Quality Dashboard and FPY tracking sheets.
- Other duties as assigned
Education: Bachelor degree in Engineering
Years' Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience
Skills:
- Knowledge of complex Quality Engineering processes and regulatory requirements
- Excellent ability to apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving
- Advanced knowledge and ability to apply core concepts of engineering
- Ability to interpret internal/external business challenges and make recommendations for improvements to products, processes or services
- CNC Machining experience in a production environment is a plus
- Ability to explain a range of complex technical information
- Demonstrated analytical skills to proactively identify and solve problems
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
- ASQ Certification and CMM experience is a plus
