DESCRIPTION OF WORK
-
This position involves the management and oversight of inmates in relation to the receipt and distribution of various materials, supplies, tools, and equipment. The individual in this role is responsible for a range of activities including the receipt, storage, and distribution of stock items within a storeroom environment, as well as the shipping and receiving processes for both raw and finished products in a manufacturing context. Additionally, the role encompasses fulfilling orders for inmates within the commissary. Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate records through specialized inventory management software, overseeing the receipt and storage of supplies, preparing reorder lists, conducting regular inventory checks, inspecting the quality of incoming goods, and verifying received items against purchase orders. The employee also supervises inmate work details, manages the distribution of inmate orders, ensures the secure handling of controlled items, facilitates the exchange of inmate clothing and laundry, and performs repairs on inmate garments. The use of mechanized equipment for material handling may also be required. Work assignments are prioritized by a supervisor, and the employee is tasked with determining the most effective methods to complete these assignments. Performance is evaluated through inspections and upon completion to ensure adherence to established standards and procedures. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $42,688.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of stockroom, warehouse, retail sales, or clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
