Job Summary

Embedded within Priority Health Product Management team the Senior Product Specialist will be responsible for the development and management of the product suite. This will include the assessment, analysis, planning, implementation, and monitoring of assigned products. The Senior Project Specialist will monitor and maintain a Suite of products/projects, providing direction for next steps in the product lifecycle, providing effective status reporting, issue escalation, risk mitigation and decision making of the product/project. This role will also include managing vendor relationships when a vendor is delivering product services. The individual must be competent to work at the highest levels of all phases of product/project leadership. Regularly provides guidance, direction, and training to less experienced staff.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for the management of a product portfolio, which includes, but not limited to

    • Analysis of product positioning and pricing in the market

    • Knowledge of competitor products and pricing

    • Development of product strategies and oversight tactics

    • Monitoring of business outcomes

    • Subject matter expertise on the products' plan designs

  • Serves as the subject matter expert for their products and acts as an organizational resource including

    • Training of sales and other internal departments

    • Updating marketing and web content to accurately reflect product positioning

    • Assuring pricing and plan design display in quoting tools and product proposals.

    • Provide product updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.

  • Manages the lifecycle of the product by

    • Measure and report product performance.

    • identifying and implementing opportunities for future enhancement, sunsetting products that no longer are performing as expected, etc.

    • Identifying resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.

    • Develop a yearly product roadmap outlining next steps with the portfolio.

  • Manages vendor partnerships

    • Oversees contract details in conjunction with Procurement.

    • Tracks performance metrics and revenue share

    • Review and report regular performance.

    • Set up billing Pos and reviews/approves monthly billing payment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization and demonstrate strong written and public speaking skills.

  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire product lifecycle.

  • Assist with process improvement initiatives within the business unit.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in health care of business.

Preferred

  • 5 years of relevant experience in health insurance.

  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies and best practices.

  • Experience in full cycle product management.

  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
