Policy/Program Analyst

This position requires an active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance to be considered.

The Policy/Program Analyst serves as a subject matter expert on trauma care policy for the Joint Trauma System (JTS), advising senior leadership on healthcare policies in both garrison and deployed environments. This role involves overseeing task management operations, monitoring and implementing military health policies, and ensuring alignment with Department of Defense (DoD) directives. The analyst conducts research and policy analysis to improve trauma care capabilities, rehabilitation strategies, and operational medical support. Additionally, they collaborate with DHA, Joint Staff, and other DoD entities to develop strategic healthcare initiatives and project priorities.

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Policy/Program Analyst:



  • Pay commensurate with experience.

Policy/Program Analyst Responsibilities Include:



  • The analyst will serve as the subject matter expert on trauma care policy for the JTS, providing counsel to the Chief, JTS, and other senior organizational leaders on all issues pertaining to trauma care policies in both garrison and operational deployed settings. They will oversee the Task Management System and generate/process all communication related to tasks received, ensuring that JTS leadership maintains visibility and awareness of tasks assigned to JTS. They will contribute to the execution of deployed policies, monitor policy modifications, and furnish updates to the Chief of JTS and Senior Leadership.
  • They will provide support and oversight of and assists in the coordination of any policies regarding military health system government civilians or Contractors deployed in support of military medical operations.
  • They will provide input and assist in developing policy recommendations involving health status force, healthcare of the deployed total force, and rehabilitation and reintegration of the uniformed force after traumatic injury.
  • They will consult with the JTS Chief on a broad range of system acquisition/ technology/ operations research/ systems analysis/management science functions pertaining to DoD trauma. They will analyze problems with the objectives of improving equipment, tactics, strategy, doctrine, and training and provide, whenever possible, a quantitative basis for command and management decisions.
  • They will develop strategic approaches to determining health care capabilities and the integration of project priorities. They will coordinate with other Directorates within the DHA, the Services, the Joint
  • Staff, and DOD, concerning matters of project work streams, priorities, and procedures.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned


Policy/Program Analyst Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Four (4) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
