Performance Improvement Nurse Analyst

This position requires an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance to be considered.

As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen.

The Nurse shall collect comprehensive, accurate data relating to trauma patients by abstracting all trajectories of care, verify and update all information compiled and enter data into the JTSM for the weekly Global Combat Casualty Care Call and monthly combatant command calls. The Nurse shall contact health care providers along the continuum of care for patient care details and documents. The Nurse shall collaborate with data acquisition personnel to maximize capture of patient care documents.

Performance Improvement Nurse Analyst Responsibilities Include:



  • Identify and analyze PI audit filters, core measures, and complications related to trauma/casualty care.
  • Collect, review, and benchmark trauma data for performance improvement (PI) initiatives.
  • Conduct concurrent and retrospective reviews to assess compliance with Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) and trauma care standards.
  • Report quality-of-care concerns, including sentinel events, patient safety issues, deaths, and complications.
  • Collaborate with trauma teams (garrison MTF and deployed units) to collect and validate injury data.
  • Prepare documents for trauma medical peer/case reviews and ensure loop closure.
  • Monitor compliance with Federal, DoD, and policy directives for trauma system operations.
  • Work with Data Enterprise teams to analyze variances in patient care delivery and measure outcomes against benchmarks.
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers across the continuum of care to address process issues and quality concerns.
  • Utilize databases such as DoD Trauma Registry (DoDTR) and Joint Trauma System Manager (JTSM) to track and report trauma data.
  • Generate reports on PI trends, CPG/TCCC compliance, and trauma system performance for combatant commands.
  • Review and assess updates to CPGs and TCCC guidelines for audit filters and core measure compliance.
  • Share compliance reports with the Defense Committee on Trauma (DCoT) as required.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.



Performance Improvement Nurse Analyst Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • Education bachelor's degree.
  • Nurse employees performing these services shall have an active, unrestricted nursing license in one of the fifty U.S. states, U.S. territories, or the District of Columbia. The Nurse employee will have a background in trauma care, critical care with at least 4 years clinical experience. The contract employee will be educationally prepared with a BSN in nursing.
  • Possess the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and management.
  • Frequent sitting, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing and seeing up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus; occasional walking or standing.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
