Requirements

    Knowledge of Combat Plans Division (CPD) organization and processes; familiarity with coordination and interoperability with COD, SRD, and ISRD to create synergistic relationships with these and other AOC divisions, teams, and liaisons
  • Familiarity with Intelligence support to air and/or cyber tasking order (ATO/CTO) cycle and construction; ability to read and understand these formats
  • Detailed understanding of tactics, techniques, procedures, and processes within the CPD specifically as it relates to being a subject matter expert on the planning cycle
  • Background working with air planning in an operational environment
  • Understanding of ISR operations, examples include ATO Special Instructions (SPINS) Annex to the ATO; Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition (RSTA) Annex to the ATO; and the ISR Synchronization Matrix; knowledge of how this guidance is used by fielded forces


Desired Skills

  • Prior experience working in a NAF or MAJCOM air operations center, multinational Combined AOC, joint/other Service equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Joint and USAF doctrine, specifically targeting, planning, and ISR employment
  • Ability to interface directly with the customer, work independently or as part of a team, and provide written status to management The ideal candidate will provide support to the 616th Operations Center Combat Plans Division
  • Operational background in planning functions at the Air Operations Center or headquarters level should be considered. Schools of interest are AOC Initial Qualification Training (IQT), Joint Air Operations Planning Course (JAOPC), Command & Control Warrior Advanced Course (C2WAC), Fundamentals of ISR Operations Course (IROC), Joint Targeting Staff Course, Joint Targeting Applications Course, Combat Assessment Course, Collateral Damage Estimation (CDE) Course, ISR 300, and Joint Planners Course (JPC)


Description

The Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) will support the 616 Operations Center (OC) Joint Interface Control Cell (JICC) with advocating for 16 AF initiatives to Joint Multi-TDL Standards Working Groups (JMSWG) and Joint Multi-TDL Configuration Control Boards (JMTCCB) IAW the JINTACCS program. These initiatives enable and enhance Air Force input into Operations with capabilities that include integration, testing, standardization, and TTP development for Command & Control (C2) & Intelligence, Surveillance, & Reconnaissance (ISR) Common and Tactical Data Link (CDL / TDL) systems. This person is also responsible for 1) Attending JINTACCS meetings and assisting with Interface Change Proposals (ICP), Requests for Exception (RFE), and TDL policy initiatives for the organization; 2) Assist the Air Force voting representative at Change Configuration Boards (CCB); and, 3) Assist with Firewall Exemption Requests (FER) and Information Exchange Requests (IER) for a high operations tempo organization. This position will require travel.
