Job Title: Lead data engineer/Architect with Java and Spark

Location: Phoenix, AZ.

Roles and responsibilities:
  • Architect and build a modern Data Platform, Unified Intelligence Platform
  • Working on multiple technical projects leading and bringing it to completion
  • Collaborating with Principal Architects and Principal Engineers across the org on building the Data Platform
  • Collaborating with the technical teams to provide mentorship on the architecture and implement standard methodologies
  • Partnering with cross org teams in various areas (E. g. Data Lake Engines, Security, Cloud Infra)
  • Proficient foresight in big data shaping the platform's development through strategic technical choices that align with industry standards.
Required Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience working with large-scale data platforms, designing solutions with modern data systems to support exponential data growth.
  • Experience writing code with programming languages like Java, Spark, API.
  • Deep understanding and experience with big data processing engines such as Apache Spark, Apache Trino
  • Experience with container and container orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience in solving the data computing and storage challenges for large-scale data for low latency, high QPS
  • Experience with big data technologies like Kafka, Spark.
  • Experience with common ML tools and platforms, such as Jupyter, AWS SageMaker.
  • Experience working with Public Cloud platforms like AWS
  • Experience in storing and accessing the data securely with permission controls at scale in Public Cloud
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, working with customers, senior leadership, and different levels of Engineering
  • Strong Technical Influence and experience Collaborating with architects, engineers, cross-teams
  • Passionate and Self Driven in leading complex projects and bringing clarity to the team
Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until March 09, 2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $117,000.00 - $137,500.00 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
