Position Description

The Digital Engineering Center is a transformation Group within the Engineering Division (Division 7). Division 7 works in partnership with the other Laboratory technical divisions to design and build advanced technology systems of national importance. The Division's expertise includes mechanical, materials, aero, thermal, optical, control, and fabrication engineering plus energy and autonomous systems. Supporting the engineering efforts are a wide range of specialized laboratories, electronics and mechanical fabrication capabilities, plus integration and environmental test facilities. Special emphasis is placed on the integration of design and analysis capabilities to support the rapid prototyping of hardware systems.

The Digital Engineering Center is currently seeking a creative, motivated person to assist with developing Digital Engineering Communication. This resource will assist the DEC Leader(s), Business Manager, Administrative Assistant, and Digital Engineering leads with executing our communication plan and developing various communication materials. This involves support for a variety of communication functions within the DEC.



Duties Include


  • Creating engaging marketing material for digital bulletin board





  • Developing surveys to gather feedback and understand communication and training needs of program staff, and then analyzing data from surveys





  • Working with leadership to update communication plan





  • Developing useful, organized SharePoint sites as central repository of strategy resources





  • Designing and updating DEC website





  • Assisting with project documentation and reporting





  • Supporting project and group meetings including prep activities and follow-on activities after these key meetings





  • Working with cross-functional leads within the DEC to create content for project communications - which translate to PowerPoint slides, SharePoint site updates, etc.





  • Brainstorming on additional effective Digital Engineering marketing materials





Requirements


  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program preferably in Business Administration, Business Management, Business Communications or a related field required





  • Self-starter and detail-oriented capable of independently tracking and following up on tasks and commitments





  • Experience with multiple communication channels and creating digital content, including video, presentations, and animation, to create interactive experiences





  • Strong Analytical/computer skills, proven experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Video editing software, and SharePoint, and multi-media creation is required





  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams within the organization





  • Proficiency in handling and organizing documentation associated with projects





  • Ability to summarize key takeaways from meetings (technical and non-technical) that can be translated into action





  • Demonstrated track record of effectively working with highly detailed documents





  • Demonstrated capabilities in presenting ideas written and orally are required





  • Must be able to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
