Job Brief

As a Drill Mechanic Apprentice, you will maintain and repair mobile drill equipment, at remote customer sites including engines, chassis, and track frames to assure safe, reliable, and cost-effective use.

*The starting pay for this role is $32 an hour*

What You'll Do:

As a Mechanic, you will maintain and repair all fixed assets and mobile equipment, including engines, chassis, production, storage and blending equipment to assure safe, reliable, and cost-effective use. Other duties include:

  • Commit to establishing an in-depth understanding of the site's business cycle and vocabulary.
  • Understanding the contributions of subject's duties and how they will impact the company's ability to deliver on its promises to customers, employees, and investors.
  • Repair and maintain all company vehicles to assure safe and reliable use.
  • Maintain all vehicle maintenance records to assure timely maintenance of vehicles.
  • Learn, apply, and accurately update all applicable modules of Manager Plus (or other) maintenance tracking software.
  • Maintain parts supply inventories and equipment in order to have necessary parts and supplies readily available and to control costs.
  • Purchase parts and supplies needed for repair and maintenance of vehicles to fulfill maintenance requirements in a cost-effective manner.
  • Timely processing of all required reporting and receiving.
  • Supervise and direct mechanic helpers.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain safe working conditions.
  • Proactively manage safety issues and practice Take 5! process by using the HAT tool to promote personal responsibility for safety.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and assure that all crew members and others on the site follow all safety and regulatory procedures and practices to ensure a safe and successful event.

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English, and to communicate in writing and verbally.
  • Experience with gasoline and diesel engine, chassis and heavy vehicle repair and maintenance
  • Experience with electrical and hydraulic systems, welding and bulk delivery systems equipment.
  • Valid drivers license - CDL preferred
  • Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and team player.
