We are proud and excited to offer summer internships for 2025 across several of our different office locations and are currently seeking an EV Charging Intern to join our Energy team in Seattle, WA.

This team helps our customers engineer and build EV charging infrastructure at their commercial facilities. In this role, the intern will be focused on improving the quality, design and presentation of our external deliverables. The ideal candidate will have an interest in a technical field, along with skills and interest in visual communication and design.

Our B.L.U.E.(Build, Learn, Understand, Enrich)Summer Internship Program is purposefully designed to inspire your imagination and help you guide your career with purpose. You'll be an integral part of McKinstry with hands-on experience, mentorship and a healthy dose of fun. Our program delivers depth and real experience so that you can truly evaluate potential career paths within the work we do.

What we look for in our EV Charging Interns:

  • Must be pursuing or have a degree a design discipline (engineering, architecture or a related field). Junior student standing or higher required.
  • Availability in Summer 2025 (May/June start until August/September depending on school); part-time availability after Summer preferred
  • Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign preferred.
  • Knowledge of the building/energy industry and construction is preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

What are our EV Charging Interns responsible for:

  • Creates visually engaging charts, tables, and diagrams to make results digestible and actionable for all project team members.
  • Writes reports and gives presentations both internally and externally on project-based findings, recommendations and solutions.
  • Leverages creative thinking skills to develop highly visual diagrams and client-facing deliverables.
  • Builds usable templates to recreate client-facing reports.

The hourly rate for this role is $24/hr.
