Art Director

Position Summary:

At New Honor Society, an Art Director is responsible for the conception, design and execution of innovative visual materials under the guidance of the reative leads (ACDs / Design Supervisors / CDs). At NHS, we do not differentiate between designers and art directors at this level. Our broader definition of an Art Director includes design craft and big picture thinking.

Responsibilities:

• Strive for a high standard of design with deep exploration and an eye-for-detail
• Partner with copywriters to create assets that are beautiful AND effective
• Develop an understanding of our clients' businessand brand to make choices that are consistent with the strategy and brand tone.
• Keep abreast of current design and cultural trends;maintain awareness of relevant advances in the industry and share with the team as appropriate
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment with strong communication skills and prioritization.
• Understanding of multiple channels and formats (social, digital media, activations, etc.) including asset creation and direction for video / animation
• Contribute to the ideation process for tactics, content, and campaigns
• Act as a team player with self-motivation, resilience and a collaborative mindset
• Be able to follow a brief from concept through execution

Requirements:

• 2+ years of relevant experience in graphic design or art direction
• Advanced design skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  Adobe After Effects not required but a plus
• Basic knowledge of PowerPoint and presentation design
• Fundamental illustration abilities.
• Experience with capturing and editing photographic assets
• High degree of skills in layout and typography
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
• Can consistently deliver on deadlines with high degree of ownership of work
• Proficiency with communication tools including email, Teams and project management software
• Basic knowledge of final file preparation and production
• Employs sound judgment when working with team, clients, vendors, etc.

Note: NHS has adopted a hybrid working environment. It is required for employees to be in office Tuesday-Thursday and can work from home Monday and Friday.
