Accounts Payable (A/P) Specialist I (HYBRID - Richmond, VA)

This position is responsible for paying all invoices and reimbursements for Atlantic Union Bankshares Corporation and subsidiaries.

Position Accountabilities
* Process all invoices for Atlantic Union Bankshares Corporation and subsidiaries, which includes reviewing each request for authorization, correcting general ledger account number, cost center, sales and use taxes and any applicable discounts.
* Match purchase orders and authority for expenditures with invoices while maintaining files for items that are capitalized.
* Reimburse teammate expenses in accordance with established policies and procedures.
* Research, analyze and resolve accounting issues involving teammate and vendor payments.
* Verify accounts payable system output to requests and invoices. Mail checks or process electronic deposits according to written instructions.
* Make copies of invoices coded to pre-paids, work in progress and fixed asset accounts, and distribute to end users.
* Assist with the maintenance of automated accounts payable system.
* May provide assistance to other Accounting teammates during peak periods, absences or staffing emergencies.
* Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations governing bank operations, including compliance with Atlantic Union Bankshares' BSA/AML Policy and Procedures.

Organizational Relationship
This position reports to the Supervisor-Accounts Payable.

Position Qualifications
Education & Experience
* High school diploma or equivalent work experience
* Two or more years of Accounting experience, preferably in a financial institution

Knowledge & Skills
* Moderate math and accounting skills
* Basic analytical and problem solving skills
* Willing to support teammates and be a team player
* Flexible, able to adapt to change and learn quickly
* Moderate PC skills including 10-key touch, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel and automated accounting applications.
* Moderate written, oral and interpersonal communication skills necessary to provide detailed information and courteous responses to teammates and vendors

Salary offered will be based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. This position is also eligible to participate in either an applicable incentive compensation plan for the position or a discretionary profit sharing bonus program.
