POSITION SUMMARY: The Wastewater Treatment Plant Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, ensuring optimal performance in water and wastewater treatment processes. This role requires a strong understanding of distributed control systems and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot various technical issues. The technician will perform other maintenance tasks for the facilities as requested.

The Wastewater Treatment Plant Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, ensuring optimal performance in water and wastewater treatment processes. This role requires a strong understanding of distributed control systems and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot various technical issues. The technician will perform other maintenance tasks for the facilities as requested.

What you will do

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on water treatment and wastewater treatment equipment at the correctional institution.
• Operate and monitor distributed control systems to ensure efficient operation.
• Conduct analyses of water quality and system performance, making adjustments as necessary.
• Execute heavy lifting tasks related to equipment installation and maintenance.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot equipment failures and implement effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations while working with hazardous materials or in confined spaces.
• Ensure proper cleaning of plant operations.
• Perform technical engineering tasks and interpret engineering data.
• Perform other maintenance tasks for the facilities as requested.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• 1-3 years Experience in water treatment processes and wastewater treatment operations Preferred
• Proficient in water treatment processes and wastewater treatment operations.
• Strong basic math skills for calculations related to chemical dosing and flow rates.
• Experience with equipment repair, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to operate tankers safely for transporting materials as needed.
• Knowledge of plumbing systems for troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
• Capable of analyzing data from control systems to optimize performance.
• Physical capability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Level 3 Water and Class C Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator License Required
• Valid Class E Driver's License Required
