Description

Essential Job Functions

  • Demonstrates SoundOff Signal's Core Values in daily interactions with internal and external customers.
  • Able to perform quality and consistent automotive electronic wiring and installation of electronic devices including, but not limited to, lighting, sirens, cages, radar, and video.
  • Must have good troubleshooting and system analysis skills.
  • Ability to effectively use a variety of tools and other equipment for successful installations.
  • Able to accurately schedule and create time estimates for product installations.
  • Test and validate SoundOff Signal product installations.
  • Schedule daily work assignments and projects directed by the Technical Department Manager, as well as be able to schedule assignments independently with some direction.
  • Ability to monitor inventory levels and report needs to department manager.
  • Work with Marketing department to support trade show displays.
  • Customer support to help achieve company sales objectives.
  • Respond to web-based questions, customer phone support, supporting new knowledge capture & share system FAQ's.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% per year including potential for occasional weekend travel.
  • Able to read and follow SoundOff Signal Work Instructions.
  • Insure department equipment is operated and maintained properly.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment. Use of Personal Protective Equipment for self and visitors to install bay areas
  • Able to perform job consistently and without excessive absenteeism or tardiness.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Electronics Technician. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in vehicle electrical system equipment installation.
  • Sound understanding of Electronics Theory
  • Customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical wiring systems and mechanical systems (disassemble vehicle).
  • Knowledge of police vehicles is a plus.
  • Ability to work with people in a cooperative environment.
  • Experience with designing wire schematics dealing with add-on equipment.
  • Extensive knowledge of 12v electrical systems.
  • Proficiency of the basic Microsoft software packages including Word and Excel.
  • Customer Service experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be hard working and self-motivated.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, rotate, and/or reach throughout an entire shift.
  • Must be able to accurately handle and assemble small parts.

  • Required to work shift hours (four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days) with occasional overtime
