Job Description Summary

American Axle & Manufacturing has openings for Lead Requirements and Software Validation Engineer at its ATDC office in Detroit, Michigan.

Job Description

Job duties include:

  • Overseeing the coordination of software requirements engineering and software validation of automotive electronics of multiple products in a collaborative environment, providing guidance to team members.
  • Leading DOORs Next Gen (DNG) using IBM tool chain with Global Configuration Management (GCM) strategies specific to driveline products, defining processes & policies tailored for driveline projects, overseeing the creation, baselining, and maintenance of driveline product configurations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to driveline products.
  • Leading DNG framework/project creation using IBM tool chain for DNG, RQM, RTC following GCM.
  • Leading team to author requirements in system, Sub system and software levels.
  • Leading team to build system and sub system level architecture using IBM Rhapsody.
  • Leading coordination of verification and validation activities of embedded systems software and document in IBM tool chain.
  • Leading requirements engineering and management of General Motors Global A/B architecture and Stellantis Atlantis architecture projects.

Required Skills and Education

Position requires: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer, Mechanical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or foreign equivalent education, and 5 years' post baccalaureate progressive experience working in requirement analysis and software validation field in the position of Lead Engineer, Lead Software Validation Engineer, Software Validation Lead, Senior Test Engineer, Senior Software Engineer or other Software Engineering positions. 5 years' experience is required in each of the following:

  • Software requirements engineering and software validation of automotive electronics.
  • Lead in DOORs Next Gen IBM tool chain with Global Configuration Management.
  • Setting up the framework for DOORs NG for all projects, which includes initiating new project areas for DNG, RQM, RTC following GCM rules.
  • Lead team to author requirements in system, Sub system and software levels.
  • Lead team to build system and sub system level architecture using IBM Rhapsody
  • Working with embedded systems software verification and validation.
  • Working with General Motors Global A /B architecture and Stellantis Atlantis architecture for requirements and testing.
