About the role:

Boston Scientific in Arden Hills, MN is seeking an experienced engineer to join our team as a Battery Design Engineer. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge battery technologies. You will also tackle technical hurdles within a global setting, fostering collaboration across diverse functions and locations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership and collaboration abilities as well as strong technical and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will also possess a passion for innovation and continuous improvement, to achieve effective commercialization of new products and enhancements.

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:




  • Assessprocess capabilities, prioritizeprocess improvement opportunities, and innovateand implementprocess improvements on multiple and moderately complex processes
  • Apply technical knowledge to innovate product design and influence assembly processes and testing
  • Executeexperiments and/or prescribetesting as necessary to characterize and evaluate impact of proposed design and process changes
  • Executethe functional deliverables associated with sustaining engineering and new product development projects
  • Prepareand presenttechnical data and recommendations at technical reviews
  • Writevalidation protocols and reportsapplicable to new processes
  • Ensureproper documentation is completed to meet quality systems requirements(e.g., BOM's, Process Flows, FMEA's, etc.)
  • Overseedevelopment builds associated with the project using special work requests
  • Assistmanufacturing and production teams with design aspects of value improvement projects and production signal evaluations
  • May serve as a core team lead or extended team member on new development projects
  • Possibly supervise and/or mentor engineers with the team



Required qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years of engineering experience relevant to this role
  • Demonstrated use of DFSS tools (DOE, problem solving)
  • Demonstrated cross functional teamwork in technically demanding environment
  • Experience with SolidWorks, or similar
  • Ability to travel occasionally (less than 10%)



Preferred qualifications:




  • Proven ability to drive deliverables to completion through collaboration among team members
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and drive innovative solutions into processes and products
  • Medical device design and/or new product development experience
  • Process development; equipment validation; process characterization and validation experience
  • Experience using predictive modeling to inform solutions
  • Experience analyzing/handling large data sets in automated tools (Python, etc.)
  • Experience with Windchill

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
