What You Will Be Doing

The Site Engineer plays a key role in managing partner teams and overseeing the deployment and commissioning of ChargePoint solutions. While occasional site visits may be required for high-visibility projects, this role is primarily focused on managing and coordinating installations remotely, with approximately 40% travel expected. Acting as a liaison between customers, internal teams, and external partners, the Site Engineer ensures seamless project execution from purchase order to final handover. This role requires field experience paired with a strong understanding of corporate processes, as well as the ability to manage technical issues and logistics with professionalism. The Site Engineer is responsible for process oversight, ensuring all installations meet ChargePoint's quality standards while managing partner teams and fostering collaboration between stakeholders.

This is primarily a coordination and management role, with most work conducted remotely from a computer. The position requires collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and customers, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to ChargePoint's standards. The role also requires performing on site commissioning and troubleshooting support to critical accounts.



What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

  • Coordinate and manage partner teams to ensure timely, high-quality installation and commissioning of ChargePoint solutions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, the sales team, and cloud services.
  • Oversee the project lifecycle, from purchase order handoff to project completion and sign-off.
  • Address logistical challenges, technical issues, and escalations to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Ensure installations meet ChargePoint's compliance, quality, and performance standards.
  • Provide occasional onsite support for high-visibility projects while primarily managing processes remotely.
  • Aggregate lessons learned from projects to improve future processes and guidelines.
  • Draft and submit detailed technical reports and ensure all project documentation is up to date.
  • Perform field commissioning, maintenance (scheduled and preventative), remediation, and warranty services on new and legacy installed Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment.
  • Provide training and guidance on all service-related procedures to peers and technicians.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Equivalent field experience and technical knowledge will also be considered.
  • 5+ years in project management, site management, or field engineering, with a strong understanding of DC systems, EV charging systems, or related technologies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage partner teams and interact with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple projects concurrently, with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, balancing field and remote responsibilities.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% as needed.


Location

ChargePoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $52,500 to $110,000. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location.
