Vascular Ultra Sonographer

nder the direction of the Director, Supervisor and Radiologist, the Vascular Ultrasound Tech performs sonographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require sound judgement and initiative to apply ultrasound for diagnosis. Performs color doppler vascular exams as well as abdominal, OB/GYN, and small parts exams. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. This is inclusive of departmental, surgery, Cath Lab and portable exams.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY

Two year educational or specialized training program in sonography and must be registered with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) as a registered vascular technologist (RVT). Vascular experience preferred. Consistently shows proficiency in ultrasound vascular exams and procedures.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 3-5 years' clinical experience in vascular color Doppler, under the supervision of a physician. Must have experience in vascular lab procedures (venous reflux, venous ablation, phlebectomy, etc.)
