Chem-Aqua - Mechanical Engineer

The MechanicalEngineer will continually improve our equipment line by simplifying, providing better training, instruction, and drawings, to minimize the time spent by our field force for equipment installation and start-up, while maximizing the time available for the pursuit of new chemical sales and business.

Responsibilities



  • Effectively size and recommend water treatment equipment for applications using calculation programs and engineering methods. Examples of water treatment equipment include boiler and cooling chemical feed systems, softeners, dealkalizers, condensate polishers, filtration, and reverse osmosis.
  • Prepare written equipment proposals for field personnel using Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Troubleshoot water treatment equipment locally (on-site) or remotely (phone, e-mail, voicemail, etc.).
  • Prepare written technical instructions for equipment as it relates to water treatment.
  • Draft scaled mechanical working drawings of water treatment equipment and systems using AUTOCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Train employees, field personnel, and customers in the equipment, tools, work techniques and skills required to accomplish assignments.
  • Program Allen-Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) using Rockwell Automation Software.
  • Complete special design projects set forth by Equipment Engineering Manager.



Qualifications

TECHNICAL

* Must have a BSE degree with a specialization in Mechanical.

* Water Treatment experience

* Must be knowlegeable in drafting methods and be proficient in 2D & 3D CAD software programs.

* Proficient use of computer software such as Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and Oracle

* Must have a general knowledge of water treatment

* Ability to use and program analytical and control equipment in the field.

* Must have reading ability sufficient to read technical manuals, mechanical and electricaldrawings, trade magazines, codes, and other technical materials.

* Must have writing ability sufficient to write correspondence, proposals, technical literature, and instructions.

* Must have good communication skills to deal with the public and to work cooperatively with sales force and other company employees.

* Employees are required upon hire to pass a physical and drug test.
