Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Release of purchase orders to suppliers on a timely basis in accordance with lead-times, and monitoring delivery schedules.
  • Release of required work orders to manufacturing that will align with the production build plans, ensuring that supporting components are available.
  • Work closely with master scheduling and materials leadership on the production build plans, which include ensuring that forecasts are current within the business system to execute planning functions. Monitor open work orders and purchase orders via ERP exception messages and execute actions in accordance.
  • Communication and correspondence with the supply base on purchase order coordination and execution of releases submitted, including the management of identified discrepant materials.
  • Interaction with material control on the required movement of materials as required to support manufacturing, which includes receiving, shipping, and internal movements.
  • Reviews inventory to determine actions on excess and obsolete components, and define a plan of action to manage.
  • Responsible for establishing production planning parameters in the business system in order to effectively execution job functions.
  • Interaction with sales on incoming orders, requesting information and providing status updates as required.
  • Ability to manage activities in a very hand-on manner and provide leadership and direction.
  • Cross functional skills in understanding manufacturing capabilities and customer expectations.
  • Drive and implement new product and cost savings initiatives in a cross functional team setting.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required
  • Procure materials by generating work orders and purchase orders in support of the production plan defined.
  • Manage open work orders and purchase orders, and make adjustments, i.e. expedites/reschedules as necessary in support of the production build plan.
  • Interaction with the manufacturing team supply base on work order/purchase order requirements as needed.

Qualifications



  • Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree required, with preferred emphasis within Operations or Supply Chain Management
  • Licenses/Certifications:

    • APICS Certification and/or progress towards is strongly preferred


  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

    • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in material planning, purchasing, and logistics, preferably within a manufacturing setting
    • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in inventory management practices such as forecasting, order policy codes, demand management, and lead-time in support of customer programs.
    • Ability to navigate with flexibility in a changing business environment.
    • Strong project management skills, demonstrated experience with continuous improvement process and quality initiatives
    • Solid ERP experience, Advanced Microsoft Office tools skills,
    • Required travel estimated at 5%.
    • Accountability to complete work on time and with a high degree of quality.
