There is currently one vacancy in our Fire Department,
this position will assist in the organization and participate in operational activities and perform a wide variety of complex, responsible and confidential duties for the Fire Department.

Education and Experience:
- Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.
- Five (5) years of increasingly responsible office administrative experience.
Skills/Abilities
- Perform responsible, complex, and difficult administrative support work with accuracy and speed.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure discreet handling in all aspects of personnel or sensitive situations.
- Provide varied and responsible office administrative work requiring the use of tact and discretion.
- Interpret, apply, and explain administrative and departmental policies and procedures.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and concise records and reports.
- Enter and retrieve data from a computer system and prepare written materials with enough speed and accuracy to perform the work.
- Respond to and effectively prioritize multiple phone calls and other requests for service.
- Compose correspondence and reports independently or from brief instructions.
- Prepare meeting agendas and transcribe minutes and other recordings from committee or commission meetings.
- File and maintain automated and hardcopy records, logs, and inventories with accuracy.
- Review, complete, and submit contracts, applications, agreements, and other documents for signature approval.

The position is a full-time benefited position and will work 40 hours per week on average; with a 4/10 work week - Monday through Thursday.
This position is FLSA Non-Exempt, eligible for overtime compensation.

Applications will be accepted until Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 5:00PM. Applicants are encouraged to apply early. Applications will not be accepted after this deadline.
Candidates that successfully pass the screening process and are deemed to possess the most desirable qualifications will be invited to participate in a HireVue tentatively scheduled for the week of February 24, 2025. Candidates who successfully pass the HireVue will be invited for an in-person oral interview tentatively scheduled for the week of March 10, 2025. The top scoring candidates from the oral interview will be placed on an eligibility list from which the department may hire. The eligibility list established from this recruitment may also be used to fill the current and/or additional vacancies throughout the City.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a reference / background check including livescan and pass a pre-employment medical examination (which will include a drug/alcohol screening).

THE ORGANIZATION
The City of Corona is a General Law city operating under a Council-Manager form of government. Policy making and legislative authority is vested in the City Council, consisting of a Mayor and four Council Members. Members of the City Council are elected by District to a four-year term. The Mayor is selected by the Council and serves as the presiding officer for one year.
The City is organized into the following departments/organizational units: Community Services, City Manager's Office, Economic Development, Finance, Fire, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal and Risk Management, Police, Planning & Development, Public Works, and Utilities. Oversight of these departments is divided between the City Manager and an Assistant City Manager.
The City's total operating budget for Fiscal Year 2025 is $ 399.1 million with a General Fund operating budget of $ 209.6 million. Corona enjoys a workforce of 922 dedicated employees who provide high quality services to its residents and visitors each day.
