Medallia is looking for an experienced network engineer to be part of our production engineering organization, and help with the design, implementation and support of a reliable, high throughput, low latency network infrastructure for our innovative customer experience platform. Responsibilities

  • Design and operate high throughput, low latency network infrastructure
  • Work across multiple technologies with other engineers to isolate and reproduce issues
  • Troubleshoot network layer issues in a routed containerized kubernetes world
  • Manage and support global network connectivity and performance
  • Analyze and resolve network infrastructure and connectivity issues
  • Architect and implement advanced network monitoring and reporting solutions
  • Automate network configuration changes and technologies using languages such as bash, python and go
  • Establish network standards and procedures. Work with other teams to ensure the network meets the business requirements
  • Participate in the oncall rotation
  • May have some people management responsibilities

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a technical field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting network devices
  • Strong scripting skills, ideally in python
  • Experience in a production datacenter environment
  • Expert routing and switching skills including wide area Ethernet transport technologies
  • Solid understanding of network monitoring and performance metrics
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols such as BGP, OSPF, Use of VRFs and IPSEC.

Prefered Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with high performance networking (40GbE and 100GbE) is a strong plus.
  • Intermediate Linux skills, with some server hardware understanding
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex problems under pressure
  • Good understanding of project management fundamentals
  • Some public cloud background, such as OCI, AWS, or Azure
  • Background in Kubernetes a plus
  • Linux networking a plus

Medallia is committed to equal pay and transparency. The annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $221,000. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline and combines all of the distinct labor markets within the US. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors. Medallia considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, candidate's work location, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, external market data, as well as, market and business considerations when making compensation decisions.
