Description
Position Summary: Person in this position serves as person in charge of developmental child care center. This person acts as first-line role model for clients and staff, by demonstrating through actions, appropriate behaviors and social interaction. Essential Job Functions include those listed below. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Essential Job Functions:
- Plan and implement child development services including but not limited to individualized educational and developmental plans, curricula, daily schedules and lesson plans, classroom instruction and medical/diagnostic services.
- Train and supervise designated center interns as determined by Program Coordinator.
- Assure center and records adhere to all agency and county standards, health department standards, and funding requirements.
- Assist in reviewing records of childrens behavioral patterns and provide clinical intervention when necessary.
- Function as member of multi-disciplinary treatment team, providing information regarding parent/child interactions and making necessary recommendations and/or referrals as necessary.
- Coordination and collaboration with community service providers and referral services.
- Meet all grant requirements.
- Flexibility to meet scheduling and fulfill program needs.
- Document in case files all attendance in groups and pertinent data collected relevant to treatment goals.
- To collect and analyze all statistical data, maintain logs, and provide necessary reporting data on a monthly basis to the immediate supervisor.
- To report all concerns to the Program Coordinators for any follow-up that may be needed.
- Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation.
- Other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications: Certifications/Licenses:
- Ability to pass first level and NABS background clearance
- As mandated by Presidential Order all employees of WestCare Foundation, Inc. and all affiliates of WestCare Foundation, Inc. will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 effective 11/1/2021. Employees that have requested a Medical or Religious Exemption, which has been approved by Human Resources will be required to test for the virus weekly
During your tenure with WestCare there may be new requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations that are issued by local, State, Federal, and/or Funders that WestCare may have to comply with. Should this occur Human Resources or appropriate personnel will inform you Education:
- Bachelors Degree in early childhood education; emphasis on special education or related field
Experience and Competencies:
- Two years teaching experience in providing developmental intervention to children or teaching in a licensed child care center.
- Two years supervisory and administrative experience.
- Knowledge of substance abuse treatment programs and services.
Working Conditions:
- Tasks may be performed in residential or office setting.
- Normal work hours are from ____a.m. to ____p.m. Regular attendance is required. Working overtime is required and essential to perform job duties at times.
Essential Physical and Mental Demands of the Job The employee must be able to perform the following essential duties and activities with or without accommodation: Physical Demands:
- Requires mobility and physical activity: Having an adequate range of body motion and mobility to work in an office, residential, or outdoor environment including standing and walking (even and uneven surfaces), sitting for extended periods of time, bending, twisting, reaching, balancing, occasional lifting and carrying of up to 30 pounds. Constant use of computer and telephone systems is required which includes coordination of eye and hand, and fine manipulation by the hands (typing, writing, and working with files). Requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Requires talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Talking is required to impart oral information to employees, clients, patients, and the public, and in those activities in which the employee is required to convey detailed or important spoken instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Requires hearing: Hearing is required to receive and communicate detailed information through oral communication.
- Requires seeing: Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less as well as vision adequate for driving a motor vehicle. This factor is required to complete paperwork for many of the employees essential job functions and when driving a motor vehicle.
- The normal work routine involves no exposure to human blood, body fluids or tissues. However, exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be readily available to every employee

- Requires the ability to collect and analyze complex numerical and written data and verbal information to reach logical conclusions.
- Requires the ability to work and cooperate with clients, co-workers, managers, the public and employees at all levels in order to exchange ideas, information, instructions and opinions.
