Position Highlights The Eller Systems Group is looking to hire a Senior Application Developer to join our innovative and dynamic team. Reporting to the Director, Eller Systems Group, the Senior Application Developer will support the redesign, development, and ongoing maintenance of software supporting the mission of the Eller College. As a Senior Application Developer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to create efficient, scalable, and secure solutions that meet business requirements. The ideal candidate will have expertise in a variety of programming languages, software development frameworks, and a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.

Duties & Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  • Develops, deploys and maintains mobile operating system-specific applications.
  • Provides
    technical guidance and mentorship to team members regarding application
    analysis, design, development and implementation.
  • Evaluates programming requests in relation to project goals and current functionality and recommends appropriate solutions.
  • Conducts tests of applications and performs quality assurance reviews; compiles test and review result for review by others.
  • Conducts tests necessary to ensure compliance with UA Information Security standards.
  • Adheres to sound development, test and production change-management procedures as they apply to the software systems life cycle.
  • Performs
    administrative tasks on database environments and data repositories
    maintained locally for use with Eller College developed software
    applications.
  • Responds to requests for user support and training on relevant applications and troubleshoots applications problems.
  • Acts as secondary point of contact for campus/external partnerships.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledge of applications programming theory, principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of student-oriented career service and academic advising systems and implementation.
  • Knowledge of current applications programming and scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of relevant security and service protocols and standards.
  • Skill in using applications programming and scripting languages in a Microsoft environment.
  • Skill in developing end user graphical interfaces.
  • Skill in writing queries, reports and technical documentation.
  • Skill in testing applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Working knowledge of UAccess Analytics, business intelligence and relational databases.
  • Demonstrated
    relational database management skills (including queries, table
    management, stored procedures and security issues), specifically within
    Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database environments.
  • Demonstrated
    Microsoft . NET programming experience with C#, ASP.NET MVC, responsive
    mobile design in a standards-compliant environment.
  • Demonstrated abilities developing systems within a fully object-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated JavaScript/jQuery abilities.
  • Demonstrated embedded software design skills.
  • Demonstrated mobile application development skills.
  • Demonstrated SAP/Web API/ Windows Communication Foundation/JSon development experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work in a shared, team environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • HTML 5, cascading style sheets 3+ or higher
  • Microsoft Azure Cloud Services (App Service, SQL Service)
  • Visual Studio 2019+ with Xamarin/MAUI
  • Windows 10+, Android OS, macOS X/iOS
  • Use of versioning, source control and bug tracking systems
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2019 or higher
