Position Highlights The Department of Disability and Psychoeducational Studies (DPS) in the College of Education is searching for two .50fte (20 hours a week) academic appointment as an Assistant Professor of Practice in the School Psychology Program at UArizona Chandler Campus. The appointments begin August 2025. These career-track appointments are not eligible for tenure.

The School Psychology Program Chandler Campus offers an Educational Specialist (EdS) degree and is an accredited program by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). The program is growing and is fully committed to playing a key role in addressing the needs of school districts in the surrounding community, as well as impacting the provision of school psychology services on a state, national and global level.

Individuals who apply should be committed to working with other faculty members in advancing the quality of teaching and student training. The program faculty places a high value on collaboration both within the program and across disciplines. We seek individuals who bring energy, leadership, and a deep commitment to academic excellence, within the scholar-practitioner tradition. We are particularly interested in candidates who are able to work with a diverse student population, stakeholders, and colleagues.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Teach graduate courses in
    school psychology
  • Engage students in active
    learning, encourage class participation, and provide support in completing
    class assignments
  • Manage classroom interactions
    and establish and maintain a climate that encourages learning
  • Serve on portfolio review and
    admissions interview committees
  • Advise and mentor students
  • Supervise graduate students
    in field experiences
  • Demonstrate a commitment to
    diversity, equity, and inclusiveness
  • Ability to incorporate social justice and anti-racist research and practices into course content
Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in school psychology
  • Certified as an Arizona Certified School Psychologist or Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP); or eligible for certification
  • Experience with teaching undergraduate or graduate level courses, experiences should be identified as in-person or on-line in CV
  • Professional experience as a school psychologist in a school setting
  • Experience working with diverse and underserved populations
  • Experience with supervision in the field of school psychology
  • Experience in psychological and psychoeducational assessment of children and adolescents

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of an APA accredited program
  • Graduate level teaching experience in: Intervention courses, Assessment courses, School Psychology Field Courses (e.g., Introduction to School Psychology, Practicum, and/or Internship)
  • Completion of an APA accredited internship
  • Previous experience and record of service in professional school psychology organizations
  • Experience with supervision of school psychology graduate students
