Position Summary:

Lead, develop, and manage Commercial Relationship Managers to promote the Credit Union's Commercial Lending and Business Services efforts, focusing on commercial and industrial relationships with lower and middle market businesses. The Manager, Commercial Lending Relationships is accountable for providing guidance in managing commercial loan portfolios and building upon existing and new relationships between the Commercial Relationship Managers and Business Services personnel to grow loans and treasury management services. The Manager, Commercial Lending Relationships is accountable for diligently working with internal and external partners for credit approval, discussing other Everwise product offerings and making introductions to other lines of business, consistently building relationships with new prospects and centers of influence along with existing clients.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage a team of Commercial Relationship Managers business development of Commercial Loans and Treasury Management Services.
  • Lead and manage individual and Team business development efforts through screening, comprehensive financial analysis, and consistent tracking of new business opportunities, to move leads into closed new business.
  • Guide and advise the Team on new opportunities, including appropriate structures and product structuring to meet the needs of the Member and within risk tolerance of Everwise.
  • Manage individual and team loan portfolios, deposit accounts, collections, and documentation collection efforts including portfolio maintenance reviews with a focus on past due loans and maturing loans and adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Credit Department to complete Commercial Credit Reviews in a timely manner.
  • Active participation in professional community relationships and events to enhance Everwise's visibility and secure new business opportunities within the community.
  • Attend all loan committees and be an active participant in individual and team opportunity presentations.
  • Develop direct reports into high performing, highly skilled employees, including through performance and talent management reviews.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as necessary for continued growth and advancement Everwise.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proven ability to lead, mentor and coach a team of commercial relationship managers.
  • Extensive Corporate and Commercial middle market loan experience across diverse industries, and commercial real estate asset classes.
  • Superior in negotiation, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Deliver exceptional service to our business members, regardless of circumstances.
  • Utilize interpersonal skills in interviewing, negotiating, selling, and managing difficult conversations with team and commercial members.
  • Uphold impeccable integrity by safeguarding the best interest of Everwise and its members through prudent lending practices and risk mitigation.
  • Robust knowledge in business and contract laws.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of deposit services, structuring commercial loans, implementing treasury management solutions, and promoting Everwise products, services, including derivative products.
  • Strong understanding of commercial credit, loan services, and credit risk policies and procedures.
  • Highly skilled in structuring treasury management solutions for a diverse clientele, including large and small corporate and commercial entities, both prospective and existing clients.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Understand and adhere to government laws, regulations, and Everwise's policies and procedures concerning Anti-Money Laundering Regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US PATRIOT ACT and OFAC.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 3 years prior commercial team experience in leading and managing a team of Business Bankers or Commercial Relationship Managers.
  • 7 years' experience in corporate and commercial business lending, maintaining a portfolio of banking clients within the financial services industry.
  • Outstanding skills in financial software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • CPA, relevant certifications, or advanced degree, preferred.
  • SBA experience, preferred.
