Minimum Qualifications
Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, digital media, business, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in digital marketing, web strategy, or social media management.
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience, managing teams in social media, web development, or digital marketing.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing digital marketing strategies that drive engagement and measurable results.
  • Familiarity with higher education marketing and communications.
  • Strong proficiency with Google Analytics, digital advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn), and marketing automation tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze marketing performance metrics and optimize campaigns based on data insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and strategies to senior leadership.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience managing multiple campaigns, teams, and budgets.

Position Summary
The University of Georgia Division of Marketing and Communications seeks a strategic, data-driven, and innovative Assistant Director of Digital Marketing to lead and enhance the university's digital marketing efforts. Reporting to the Senior Director of Integrated Marketing & Brand Strategy, this role will oversee the social media and web development teams to drive the university's online presence, engagement, and digital transformation. The Assistant Director will play a key role in aligning digital strategies with institutional priorities, delivering measurable results across platforms, and managing cross-functional teams to execute campaigns with excellence.

  • * Develop and implement comprehensive digital marketing plans to support institutional goals, increase brand awareness, and drive audience engagement.
  • * Oversee digital marketing campaigns, aligning with strategic goals, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and alignment with performance targets.
  • * Identify opportunities to innovate and expand digital marketing efforts to achieve KPIs.
  • * Manage budgets for digital marketing efforts and oversee relationships with external partners to maximize resources and ensure project success.
  • * Collaborate with other schools and colleges across campus to align and coordinate digital advertising campaigns, ensuring consistency with institutional goals and messaging.
