Senior Director of Engineering

As Sr. Director of Engineering for EA Experiences you will report to the VP CRM and will be responsible for designing, building and operating technology. As a lead on the new CRM team, you will understand EA Experiences' strategy and operations and will lead creation and implementation of technologies to maximize team effectiveness, with a focus on go-to-market effectiveness for our marketing/communication efforts. Your scope will include website (ea.com), email, in-game comms, low-touch creative, campaign management, marketing data warehouse and marketing science/measurement. Working at the intersection of business and technology, you will accelerate growth, innovation and capability transformation. This is a hybrid role with 3 days in office.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 3-year roadmap for technology products ensuring they meet both EA Experiences short and long-term needs.

  • Lead the design, implementation and support of technology solutions to support EA Experience team goals.

  • Lead the technology development team, providing coaching to help team members meet their goals and and further their careers.

  • You will develop closed-loop mechanisms and reporting to audit your team's infrastructure efficiency, maintain software hygiene, and ensure future scalability of your services.

  • Manage technology prioritization according to EA Experiences goals/frameworks

  • Manage 24x7 support for technology solutions, including on-call structure, creation/maintenance of run-books, process for mitigation and root cause analysis.

  • Be a technical expert across EA influencing our approach in areas such as identity, personalization, AI, data management and cloud technologies.

  • Evaluate complex business and technical requirements, and communicate inherent risks and solutions to technical and non-technical business owners.

  • You will partner with Experiences team peers to ensure technology solutions are fit for purpose and delivering on our team goals.

  • Partner with other EA Technical and Platform teams on joint projects (co-dev) to create end-to-end solutions.

Your Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience in scaled technology teams

  • 5+ years experience managing technical teams

  • Experience building scaled products (>100M users) with global reach

  • Experience building large data solutions focused on individual player behavior

  • Experienced in building technical teams, with demonstrated expertise in managing technical resources

  • Experience building solutions that improve Marketing and Commercial outcomes to achieve business targets

  • Comfortable managing and working with distributed/remote teams

  • Experience integrating technology solutions with either AAA Console/PC games or large retail/ecommerce

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
    • $179,900 - $249,800 CAD
  • California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento)
    • $202,700 - $308,800 USD
  • Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane)
    • $191,100 - $281,600 USD

In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
