Vaco is hiring for a Senior Accountant opportunity in Independence OH. Job Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, maintaining the general ledger, preparing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. This role will assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, tax filings, audit support, and financial modeling. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze and interpret financial data. Job Duties & Responsibilities Perform month-end close procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Compile and analyze financial data to prepare journal entries documenting business transactions. Review and reconcile monthly and year-end balance sheet accounts. Manage all aspects of the General Ledger, including chart of accounts maintenance, balancing, and transactional verification. Generate and update monthly financial models that drive the financial statement process. Organize, analyze, and prepare the Budget, Forecasts, and financial results for key promotional events, including: Convention Million Dollar Club Success Summits Elevate Meetings Provide documentation and support for year-end independent financial and bank audits. Perform daily cash reporting and forecasting. Create ad-hoc reports based on system results. Assist with internal reporting and process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency. Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies. Other tasks as assigned by management.Required Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), financial regulations, and best practices. High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential financial information. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Accuracy and attention to detail with strong documentation skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities efficiently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Word. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and financial modeling. Experience with NetSuite/Oracle preferred. Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA a plus. Minimum of 3 years of finance or accounting experience.
