Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the physician, performs all phases of diagnostic medical sonography and/or interventional procedures to provide high quality diagnostic exams and patient care. Procedures include but are not necessarily limited to, abdominal or transvaginal, OB/GYN, and interventional ultrasound procedures.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Must hold or be pursuing current licensure as an RDMS with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or equivalent. Must obtain ARDMS certification within 18 months of hire.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Must be competent in scanning abdominal organs such as liver, kidneys, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, and parts of the chest.
  • Must be competent in scanning obstetric and gynecologic areas, the imaging of the female reproductive system and fetus.
  • Must be competent in scanning noninvasive vascular exams such as carotid, venous, aorta, and hepatic Doppler studies.
  • Must be competent in scanning in interventional cases.
  • Must be able to demonstrate specific normal anatomy and abnormal pathology.
