Overview

Hexagon's Autonomous Solutions division is looking for a Senior Accountant. Join us for an opportunity to provide timely and meaningful accounting information to our management team to provide them

Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant will primarily be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and managing the general ledger. Following is a general list of anticipated job duties:

    Responsible for overseeing the maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately. Monitoring subcontracts, change orders, and other job cost adjustments ensuring compliance with contract terms, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the month-end close process by ensuring that all revenue is recognized properly in accordance with IFRS, all job cost expenses are captured, entered and coded appropriately, and all time and expenses related to capitalizable research & development projects are captured, entered and coded appropriately.
  • Lead the financial review for projects to ensure compliance with accounting standards and corporate policies.
  • Distribute monthly cost analytics reports to finance/operations departments, project/program managers, and other members of the management team.
  • Assess and pursue opportunities for maximizing of client billings by resolving complex invoicing issues that arise due to unique billing requirements, project adjustments, or system issues.
  • Maintain a master project code listing and assume responsibility for assignment of project codes to new projects.
  • Regularly calculate and maintain departmental labor rate calculations.
  • Maintain finance driven functions in time keeping system. Track submission of weekly time reports and follow-up on delinquent submissions.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests.
  • Prepare other various ad hoc reports and analytics of various operational costs and procedures.
  • Support day-to-day operational activities as needed by project/program managers, finance/operations departments, and other members of the management team.
  • Effectively communicate with team members, project managers and finance/operations departments regarding all facets of the project accounting function. Participate in project and operational meetings as the primary finance department representative.


Qualifications

Must haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • 3+ years of previous experience in accounting and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems, such as SAP, Infor (Syteline), OneStream, or similar.
  • Experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Proven ability to work with a wide variety of people in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment and to perform work requiring close attention to detail.
  • Excellent working knowledge of windows-based office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with some general applications software knowledge.
  • Experience in utilizing Microsoft Excel to manage & report accounting data.

  • Strong system administration experience including identifying and resolving system issues.

Nice-to-Have:

  • CPA or CMA license (or equivalent).
  • Specific experience using SyteLine ERP system.

Compensation & Benefits

Hexagon's Autonomy & Positioning division provides the following compensation range and a general description of other compensation and benefits. This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule. The Company reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range or offer other compensation depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state or federal law. Our benefits and bonus plans are reviewed annually and are subject to change at the company's discretion.

Hiring Salary Range: $76,500 - $122,400 per annum

Bonus Eligibility: We offer a company profit share and individual incentive-based bonus programs.
