The laboratory of Sheng-Han Kuo seeks a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to study the neural circuitry of ataxia and tremor diseases in preclinical models. The successful candidate will conduct circuit analyses in awake-behaving mice utilizing behavioral, electrophysiological, molecular, optogenetic, and/or chemogenetic approaches. Postdoctoral researchers are expected to be independent, highly motivated, and be in charge of all aspects of their project from conception, data generation, and analysis to grant submissions and preparation of scientific publications under the guidance of the principal investigator and program manager. The chosen candidate should believe in team science and be collaborative. Minimum qualifications: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in PhD in neuroscience or a similar field. Applicants must have effective communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented, with excellent laboratory skills and a proven record of research accomplishments. Time-management, multitasking and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced research program are essential.
