The Neurosurgery Spine Center PA will provide clinical expertise to patients and families in the outpatient setting, is a resource person for health care providers, supports research activities, and participates in neurosurgical teaching programs. This role specifically supports our neuro spine program at the Spine Center.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- California Licensed Physicians Assistant (PA)
- National Certification as a Physician Assistant
- Valid Physician Assistant License
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate within 3 months of hire
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
- Master's degree.
- At least 1 year of recent Physician Assistant experience.
- At least 1 year of recent Physician Assistant experience working in Neurosurgery, orthopaedic spine, or pain medicine.
- Demonstrated ability for positive interaction with medical/nursing staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Able to meet PA competencies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Judgment skills to effectively meet the needs of patients.
- Self direction and organizational skills to function in an independent role.
- Ability to apply relevant theories and concepts to clinical practice.
- Ability to cope with personal stress experienced by team members, other professionals, and caretakers.

We are the destination hospital for patients with brain tumors, aneurysms, stroke, traumatic brain and spinal cord injury, epilepsy and movement disorders, spine disorders, and the entire spectrum of pediatric neurosurgery.
UC Davis Neurological Surgery offers the latest technologies and provides state-of-the art treatment options for patients in our region. Our neurosurgeons are recognized experts in minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery, endoscopic surgery, laser interstitial thermal therapy, and motion-preserving spine operations. We have many clinical programs with national and international recognition, including Brain Tumor (NCI-designated Cancer Center), Skull Base Disorders (North American Skull Base Society distinction), Trauma (ACS Level 1 Adult and Pediatric), Aneurysm and Stroke (Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke), Epilepsy (NAEC Level 4), Spine (Comprehensive Spine Center), Pediatric (ACS Level 1 Center), and Movement Disorders (HD Center of Excellence). The department is heavily involved in education and research, with numerous opportunities for patients to participate in cutting-edge clinical trials.
