Summary: Skilled hands-on operator that sets up, tends, and maintains fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, brakes, and punch presses that cut, shape, and bend metal plates and sheets by performing the following duties. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Capable of performing essential duties and responsibilities of Fabricating Machine Operator reads shop work orders to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. Understands bend allowances, thickness tolerances, and machine tonnage requirements. Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template. Performs minor daily and weekly machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, refilling fluids, checking filters and general cleaning assigned per the preventative maintenance system. Rivets and spot welds work pieces. Operates all material handling equipment including forklifts, light duty jib cranes, and vacuum lifters. Endeavors to create a work environment that is enjoyable, engenders pride in the product and focus on the customer, and provides room for individual responsibilities and ideas. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills: Computer skills limited to manufacturing equipment operation, online safety training, ERP system, and HRIS platform. Will train. WE HAVE:
