Description
JOB SUMMARY: Integrates systems to increase efficiency by maximizing the factors of production, including but not limited to, processes, methods, time standards, human factors, machine utilization, material routing and handling methods, tool design and application, etc. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyzes production processes and the sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products to promote efficient utilization, to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize costs.
- Develops production process standards.
- Analyzes processes for improvement in human factors and ergonomics; develops labor utilization standards to promote efficient utilization.
- Creates material handling standards and practices, including product storage and packaging.
- Optimizes floor plan layouts and implements cellular manufacturing concepts.
- Develops metrics to measure the key elements of productivity.
- Works with Accounting Department to evaluate production costs and savings.
- Recommends methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities.
- Applies lean and Six Sigma methodologies to identify, support, and lead process variation, continuous improvement, and waste reduction projects.
- Coordinates projects with the employees involved to obtain required informational data for analysis and value determinations.
- Applies statistical methods and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.
- Drives continuous improvement of existing standard, modified, and custom fixtures.
- Attends and contributes toward engineering meetings and other discussions as appropriate such as production, quality, and other management meetings.
- Works with supervisors to ensure the manufacturing instructions are clear and understood and provides training as needed.
- Proceeds with minimal supervision.
- Maintains or exceeds production standards through organization and planning.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of and conformity to Ace Precision Quality System Work Instruction requirements that govern engineering operations.
- Follows and complies with safety rules, regulations and procedures.
- Accurately completes all required documentation.
- Meets attendance policy requirements.
- Contributes to team effort by assisting in areas as needed.

Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Engineering related degree from an accredited college or university is required. Must understand lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies and be able to apply statistical techniques in a manufacturing environment. LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization and maintain positive employee/employer relations. Ability to respond to technical inquiries, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Excellent writing and communication skills with a strong knowledge of Excel and MS Word. All communication must be handled with professional expertise, complete and thorough detail, documentation, and follow-through. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts of algebra, geometry, statistics and advanced shop mathematics. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Requires considerable initiative and decision-making judgment. Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interface with all levels of employees. Detail oriented, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and assess priorities to meet deadlines, recognize workflow, and carefully plan short and long term projects. Results oriented, energetic; a self-starter that is a team player with the ability to think conceptually, flexibly and strategically.
