  • Salary Range: $190,000 to $215,000


The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Chief Physician Assistant (PA) will oversee a group of PAs in the Structural Heart & Valve Center. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Chief PA will be responsible for setting the strategy for the team as well as creating work flow efficiencies. This includes ensuring there is clinical coverage at all clinic locations, ensuring that all PAs are crossed trained and able to cover each other. Additionally, as new clinic locations are opened, the Chief PA will be responsible for ensuring that the infrastructure is built to support patient's needs.

Responsibilities

The Chief PA will also be responsible for all Outpatient clinic responsibilities including (but not limited to):



  • Performing chart review prior to clinic days and assisting in creating a patient summary
  • Educating patients and their families on conditions and treatment options including risks
  • Coordinating pre-operative testing
  • Reviewing results of pre-procedural and post-operative testing and communicating results to patients and families
  • Seeing patients during follow up visits
  • Participating in weekly coordination of care meetings
  • Helping to develop referral pathways and performing outreach to referring clinicians
  • Performing other responsibilities as required


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program, with at least two years of hospital experience, preferably in Cardiology.
  • Current New York State PA license and NCCPA Board Certification.
  • Must be able to manage multiple cross-functional communications and process in a timely manner.
  • Must have a high degree of professionalism in all communications.
  • Experience in managing complex schedules.
  • The candidate must be able to work collaboratively within a diverse team of professionals and must be highly organized and have proven leadership skills.
  • The candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to work individually and as part of a team.
  • The candidate must acknowledge that the patient is our highest priority.


Other Requirements



  • Participation in the medical surveillance program:

    • Contact with patients and/or human research subjects
    • Potential bloodborne pathogen exposure


  • Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements.
