Responsibilities

McDowell Center for Children (a UHS facility):

McDowell Center is a 28-bed residential treatment facility and our outpatient facility located in Dyersburg, Tennessee, for adolescent males experiencing mental health, behavioral, and/or substance abuse issues. Our staff is made up of licensed therapists, psychiatrists, nurses, and counselors who offer 24-hour support for our patients. We provide young men with the skills they need to improve their thinking patterns, make healthier choices, and create new futures with improved outlooks and outcomes.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Admissions is accountable for the oversight of the hospital's Admissions Department and supports the purpose of the entire admission process. The Director of Admissions creates and maintains department procedures in the following areas: census maintenance, daily census records, inquiry calls and referrals phone log and ensures that the level of treatment and clinical services is appropriate to all patient needs. Coordinates all admissions into the facility. This position interfaces closely with the hospital's medical staff, nursing staff, other department heads, as well as referring agencies and payers. The Director of Admissions is responsible for the department's budget, policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, service excellence, and data management/analysis. In addition, the Director of Admissions participates with the senior leadership team in the development and management of processes related to the hospital's strategic goals. The Director of Admissions/Marketing reports directly to the hospital's CEO.

The Marketing Director possesses knowledge of psychiatric clinical diagnoses and the ability to articulate McDowell Center For Children's ability to treat specific children's needs. The Marketing Director is responsible for building and developing referral relationships for McDowell. Serves as liaison for McDowell and the patients with referrals, the courts, parole officers and Child Services. Work with the referral sources and the facility to increase census and referrals.


Qualifications

Education: LCSW or LPC eligible, PhD, or RN-Licensure, Master's prepared from an accredited college or university. Previous experience in Mental Health related filed preferred. Ph.D. or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, mental health or a related field.

Experience: A minimum of five (5) years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting desirable. Working knowledge and experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities, and working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds. A minimum of three (3) years of managing a professional/clinical team and responsible for staffing, budget, and process improvements. Must possess knowledge of marketing and targeting referral resources.
