Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Early-Career Geologist/Hydrogeologist as part of our environmental practice in our Tampa or Clearwater, FL offices. The position will have the opportunity to apply geologic skills to projects involving analytical hydrogeology; contaminated site assessment and remediation; construction management; environmental compliance; and forensic investigations and litigation support, while developing the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Fieldwork such as soil, surface water, and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, well installations, aquifer testing, geophysical investigations, remediation system operations and maintenance and potable water supply infrastructure maintenance and construction management;
  • Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation;
  • Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, and implementation;
  • Aquifer testing and hydrogeologic data analyses;
  • Groundwater modeling and 3D data visualization;
  • Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;
  • Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures; and
  • Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.


Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in geology, hydrogeology or geochemistry. (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Prior research experience in analytical hydrogeology or contaminated media. (preferred)
  • Internship(s), co-op position, or prior work experience relevant to the position. (preferred)
  • Prior experience in design, calibration, and sensitivity analysis of numerical groundwater models using MODFLOW and the pre/post-processors groundwater Vistas and/or GMS. (preferred)
  • Experience with numerical analysis, hydrogeology, groundwater flow, and water quality. (preferred)
  • Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required)
  • Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
