TEKsystems is seeking an Operations Network Engineer to support our large healthcare client in Alaska This is a hybrid role, WFH with frequent travel onsite to Soldotna, AK. Network Engineer Full-Time - Remote with Frequent travel onsite (2 weeks per month) ideally candidates live close to client, but travel may be reimbursed. NOT eligible for sponsorship or C2C employment Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer. This is a long term contract to hire opportunity that will lead to full time permanent employment. Job Description: TEKsystems is looking for a Network Engineer with experience managing high-end routers, switches, load balancers and firewalls. * Responsible for the architectural design, planning and operational implementation of networking solutions into various network environments and communication systems (i.e. on premise, cloud, remote and hybrid). Top Required Skills: * Cisco Layer 3 Switching and Routing networking * Cisco ASA and Palo Alto Firewall Administration * VPN and WAN Technologies * Network Segmentation General Responsibilities & Duties * This position provides recommendations of technology and solutions to department leadership. * This position will be responsible for a complex healthcare environment that includes Primary and Secondary data centers. * The position responsibilities include the efficient design, implementation and ongoing support of all hospital network and server infrastructure and supported systems. * This also includes safeguarding information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems. * This position provides recommendations of technology and solutions to department leadership. * This position will be responsible for a complex healthcare environment that includes Primary and Secondary data centers. Qualifications & Skills: * 2-5 years of relevant experience * In-depth knowledge of networking devices such as Routers, Switches, WLC's, etc. * CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or similar Network/Security certification strongly preferred * In-depth knowledge of networking protocols HTTP, VOIP, TCP/IP, etc. * Good understanding of network cabling e.g. copper, fiber and their characteristics. * Strong understanding of OSI Model * Basic understanding of network security, firewalls, and Purdue Reference Model a plus * Ability to communicate and document network design and issues to all levels within the company and its clients * Willing and able to travel to client locations including offshore US and international locations * Knowledge and experience with industrial control systems and networks is a plus * Excellent communication and influencing skills. * Ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide options to overcome challenges. * Must be a self-starter with the ability and drive to own and deliver a project work package with minimum guidance and support.
