Also will be building struts 1 and 2 and modernizing and coding to Springboot services. Tier 1 application, deploying AWS, tier 4 deployed on-prem. Projects can vary throughout the duration as the team has 24 applications. Oracle onprem in backend and in future they are looking to building databases on AWS The Senior Application Developer will be responsible for developing, designing and maintaining applications in Java and Oracle, handling critical incidents/non critical incidents, running automated test scripts. Ideal candidate familiar with test cases, and has experience with either automated or manual QA testing. This person will be processing data through java to the front end so the data request can be shown to the customer so someone with prior experience on customer facing applications is a plus. Also need to be experienced with SQL queries. Need someone who has been around entire SDLC including impact analysis when it comes to testing new features. Additional Details: The Senior Application Developer is responsible for the design, development, integration, implementation, and support of web-based application software in a full-stack environment. This team supports National Accounts / Credit applications. The Systems are primarily focused on Java/Oracle. This highly technical and challenging position will work with the Java Development Team on the National Accounts, Credit, and the Mobius Repository applications. Other areas of involvement may include providing web services to corporate and other departments including stores. Development responsibilities will encompass new logic/features, enhancements, and bug fixes/support. Essential Functions Strategy & Planning- Acquire and interpret business requirements, creates a functional specification, and determines the most efficient/appropriate technologies. While following department established standards, influence users in determining the best design to meet project requirements. Responsible for implementing approved architecture design. Design, submit and review technical and process improvement recommendations as a member of the technical leadership team. Acquisition & Deployment- Perform complex programming assignments requiring an advanced aptitude of established programming standards, methods, and best practices. Design application and database components for development projects. Perform analysis of business models, logical specifications, and/or customer requirements to design and build Internet solutions utilizing multiple technologies. Mitigate significant risks associated with projects, which have a high technical complexity and/or involve significant challenges to the business. Understand the business problem being solved and recommend the best solution. Operational Management- Maintain and modify applications; make approved changes by amending application documentation, developing detailed programming logic, and coding changes. Provide support for critical application problems and issues. Develop proactive measures to ensure issue is solved and or easily discovered going forward. Act as a Subject Matter Expert in the discovery and investigation of critical production problems as required. Collaborate with business domain experts to analyze and assess existing business critical functions. Recommend improvements to operational processes. Assist Project Manager in the definition, gathering, development, and documentation of business and/or technical requirements, objectives, deliverables, design specifications and project plans. Participate in requirements gathering and design responsibilities. Create documentation such as Technical Requirements and High-Level Design documents. Collaborate with other developers, programmers, and designers in conceptualizing and development of new software programs and applications. Lead or participate in software design reviews. Assist in the diagnosis and correction of system issues and software bugs. Participate in measures to prevent them from happening again. Position Requirements Formal Education & Certification Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in related field or equivalent experience. Knowledge & Experience- 5+ years of IT experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience working on all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle. Experience working with customers to build and formulate business requirements. 5+ years Java, ORM/JPA/Hibernate, Web Services, Object-oriented design techniques, and common design patterns. 3+ years of experience in writing SQL queries and stored procedures to Oracle databases. Experience testing, debugging, and diagnosing software bugs and system issues. Experience in automated testing desired. Microservices experience * Advanced skills implementing API and Microservices architecture using any of the market leading solutions * Experience in implementing business critical, high volume, and highly available services is a must. * A strong hands-on development track records building integration and application utilizing a variety of technologies, development tools and database systems. Other job details: -Creates user information solutions by developing and maintaining internet/intranet applications. -Defines objectives by analyzing user requirements. -Designs and develops user interfaces to internet/intranet applications by setting expectations in development life cycle; completing programming using languages and software products; designing and conducting tests. -Integrates applications by designing database architecture and server scripting; studying and establishing connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers. -Completes applications development by contributing to team meetings; Troubleshooting development and production problems. -Supports users by developing documentation and assistance tools. -Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for fulfilling new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Experience Level Expert Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $67.00 - $70.00/hr.
