Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent (4 years job-related experience).

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable time from hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As an Engineering Opeartions and Support Specialist for the Multipurpose Interactive Trainer (MIT) team, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for delivering cutting edge training systems to submarine fleets of both the US Navy and Royal Australian Navy. The MIT team's work is fast-paced and exciting and involves integrating cutting-edge tactical software builds into large-scale training platforms for systems and capabilities that are not yet present in the Submarine Fleet. Training is deployed to Navy Bases including San Diego, Pearl Harbor, Bangor, Norfolk, Groton, Kings Bay, Kittery, and internationally in Perth, Australia.

As a member of our team, you will execute the following tasks:

  • Maintain Limited Access Area (LAA) lab hardware and media, to include organization and inventory from receipt to disposition
  • Support Configuration Managment, to include creating and testing deliverable media
  • Coordinate shipping and installation documentation processes
  • Facilitate content management for the program by organizing, compiling, and peer reviewing deliverable documentation
  • Support material procurement, recieving, and test processes
  • Collaborate with internal GDMS functions on behalf of the program, to include Security and Government Property groups

Preferred skills and experiences:

  • Strong and professional writing skills.
  • Coding/IT experience preferred, but also teachable.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Working knowledge of Arbortext is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to be creative, innovative and responsible, and able to master solid decision-making skills.
  • Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success, meeting and exceeding personal and team commitments

Workplace Options:

Target salary range: USD $66,276.00/Yr. - USD $71,713.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
