Project Scheduler

Overview:

Olgoonik is seeking a talented and experienced Project Scheduler in support of our office in Kensington, MD. The successful candidate will be responsible for a business segment, including cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of the operation.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Creating, monitoring, and updating construction project schedules.

* Coordinate with project managers, government project officers, subcontractors, and vendors to provide and update project schedules.

* Attend progress meetings and take meeting minutes for distribution.

* Participate in scoping sessions with the client, produce detailed estimates, negotiate proposals with clients, produce subcontractor bid packages, administer and oversee subcontractor field activities, produce in-house production reports and project schedules, etc. as required to effectively manage several projects at once.

* Coordinate work with other project managers.

* Review material, approve submittals and check for compliance.

* Participate and enforce in the company safety program.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervisory responsibilities associated with this position may include supervision of professional, technical, clerical, and/or labor staff in support of the project.

Education and/or Experience:

* Minimum of five years' experience in construction, with emphasis in project management and estimating for small to medium sized projects.

* Bachelor's degree in construction or project management related field is preferred but extensive experience in lieu a degree will be considered.

* Job order Contracting, Line Item Estimating, and Corps of Engineer contracting experience a plus.

* Experience estimating, cost control, scheduling, etc. is required. RS Means Cost Works experience is a plus.

* Must have effective time management, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in scheduling software such as Microsoft Project and Primavera.

* Understanding of Gantt charts and cost loaded schedules.

* Proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing programs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Applicants must possess excellent communicative skills and be adept in managing multiple, minor construction contracts from concept to completion.

* Interpersonal skills sufficiently influence employees and subcontractors to actively achieve mutual goals.

* Some travel may be required.

* Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite of products including Word, Excel, Project and E-mail business software. Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a Team.

* Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under a minimum of supervision.

* Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects, and have a strong attention for detail.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time, year-round position with commensurate salary and benefits. General office environment. Some travel within the state may be required based on business demands.

Wage:

The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $85,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
